When many people think of magnets and hobbies, one of the first things that they consider would be a metal detector. While these are fascinating, magnet fishing is a new hobby that has the potential for a lot of income, depending on what you bring up.
So how it works, is that you tie a heavy duty magnet to a strong rope, and toss it into a river, pond, or stream. If there is anything magnetic in there, the magnets will latch onto it, and will not let go. As a result, you can bring up a lot of things that other people may have lost in the water. For instance, old coins, shopping carts, and a lot more.
In the video, we see a few guys huddled together, pulling numerous things out of the water with their ropes and magnets. One of the guys seems to be unable to pull it up, and goes around to see what it could be. This is when the found a safe, with the door broken off of it.
While they were amazed that they found a safe, this was not the end of it, as they found another safe not too long after. This new safe was a part of a crime that happened not so long ago. As a result, they called the police, and had to wait for them to arrive. This discovery could lead to the arrest of the people who stole the safe.
This goes to show that although a hobby might be odd or eccentric, it does have a lot of value to it. These guys were able to find a safe that was stolen by using their magnets and ropes to reel it in. Proving that this hobby has the potential to do a lot of good if used correctly.
