Country singer Keith Urban was amazed at how far he has come after seeing a picture of him sporting a mullet when he was younger.

The photograph was revealed by Ellen Degeneres on her show on May 12 for #ThrowbackThrusday, something Urban wasn’t familiar with.

“It’s like you a long time ago,” explained the host.

“Like a retro kind of thing,” said the singer as he caught on.

The “retro” picture shows the singer smiling, wearing a black button-up shirt.

“Wow,” said Urban laughing.

“You know I hadn’t met a lot of dentists by then,” joked Urban about his not-so-perfect teeth.

But Degeneres told him he didn’t turn out so bad.

“Look at you now,” said the host.

She then went on to share a picture of Urban and his wife, actress Nicole Kidman, at the Met Gala in New York on May 2.

The “handsome couple,” as Degeneres called them, will soon celebrate their 10-year anniversary.

Urban admitted recently that his life didn’t begin until he met Kidman, whom he has two daughters with.

“Someone asked me if it was life changing meeting her [Nicole]. And I said, I think it was more like it was like the beginning for me,” explained the singer.

“I feel like I spent all the years leading up to that preparing. I didn’t know I was, but that’s what it seems like in hindsight,” he said.

Unfortunately Urban couldn’t seem to get the day off work. He explained that he has a show in Boston on the special day.

“The tour was laid out and I said, ‘You know I can’t work on our anniversary,’” Urban said.

“Nic said, ‘What if I come up to Boston and we’ll celebrate it together?‘ And I said, ’Fantastic.'”

The cute couple recently released a video on YouTube showing them singing in the car to Urban and Carrie Underwoods’ duet “The Fighter.” Urban and Kidman laughed throughout the song and embraced at the end of the light-hearted video.
