A dashcam video captured a scary moment in Belarus that could have been much worse.

A boy wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt is seen walking across a snowy road, but he apparently doesn’t see a car that is bearing down on him, according to the footage, uploaded this week.

A cop then walks behind him and grabs him, pulling him back. The minivan, however, hits the cop and sends both of them flying backwards.

The officer was identified as Sergei Batalko, and the incident took place in Vitebsk several days ago, The Telegraph reported. Batalko essentially acted as a human shield for the unnamed boy.

The boy was not injured, and the officer suffered a bruised leg, but is expected to be fine.

The driver was charged with a traffic offense, Global News reported.
