Video Captures Shocking Moment Woman Steals Someone’s Child in a Hospital

Security cameras at a Russian hospital captured a woman stealing a baby girl in a shopping bag.

The bizarre moment was captured on CCTV at a prenatal center in Belgorod in western Russia, according to RT.com on Sunday.

The woman---who is wearing a robe and is carrying a green shopping bag---takes the baby girl without anyone noticing.

The broadcaster reported that the young child was found hours later. She was unharmed and returned to her mother.

The woman, said to have the first name Yekaterina, is now facing kidnapping charges, officials said.

It is believed that she kidnapped the child after the death of her own.

According to the Mirror, she posted an image of the stolen infant online with the message: “Everything will be cool!”

When police showed up to apprehend her, she reportedly had fainted several times.

She was arrested after telling her family that she took the child.  Reports said she is a 23-year-old medical student, and the mother of the stolen child is also 23.

The head of the hospital’s pediatrics ward was the first official to discover the child went missing, according to the Daily Star.

Hospital officials said they would increase security. Meanwhile, police are still investigating the matter.

If the woman is deemed fit to stand trial, she faces a heavy prison sentence, officials said.
