A practitioner of the spiritual practice of Falun Gong has recounted the frightening experience of being targeted for live organ harvesting perpetrated by communist officials in China, which she said was reasoned by the jailers to be contributing to the nation.

“One night not long after I arrived at the Mishan Brainwashing Center, Li Lijun, the Head of the Jixi Brainwashing Center, sat in a corner after dinner and said to me by the dim light: ‘You should contribute yourself to the nation,’” Wei Jun, a Chinese Falun Gong practitioner who escaped from China just a month ago, said at a rally in Sydney on July 14.

“Later, he said to me: ‘There are doctors in hospital cooperating with us, in the name of medical checks for your body, to see if your physical indicators meet the standards for live organ harvesting.’

“On another night, a man who looked like a butcher—and turned out to be Mishan 610 [office] Director Yu Xiaofeng—stood in front of me, stared at me, and said, ‘Your eyes are good [for being harvested].’”

Falun Gong, also called Falun Dafa, is a Buddhist spiritual practice centred on “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance,” which was first introduced to the public in China in 1992. Due to its mental and physical health benefits, the practice attracted 70-100 million adherents in the country by 1999, according to Chinese regime estimates.
On July 20, 1999, fearful of Falun Gong’s popularity as an independent ideology, former CCP leader Jiang Zemin launched a persecution against its followers. As of June 2023, 4,974 Falun Gong practitioners have been killed from the persecution, according to Minghui.org, a website documenting the persecution.
One of the CCP’s most horrendous crimes against adherents in China has been forced organ harvesting, which is ongoing according to the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong’s (WOIPFG) latest report in April, which stated that living donor pools are still in existence in China and that there is still a short waiting time for organs.
The report follows the 2019 investigation conducted by a seven-member international and independent China Tribunal, which concluded that “unanimously, and sure beyond a reasonable doubt—that in China forced organ harvesting from prisoners of conscience has been practiced for a substantial period of time involving a very substantial number of victims.”
Ms. Wei, who was speaking at a rally commemorating the 24th anniversary of Falun Gong practitioners’ peaceful resistance to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s persecution, noted that, despite her harrowing ordeal that involved all sorts of tortures, she never regretted practicing Falun Dafa.
“On the contrary, it is precisely because of practising Buddha Fa that I gained the courage to peacefully fight against the evilest regime in human history, and I am still able to stand here today after countless inhuman tortures.”

World Starting to Act on China’s Live Organ Harvesting Trade

“The world is getting clearer and clearer about the CCP’s anti-humanity crime of live organ harvesting. In addition to the moral condemnation, many countries have begun to promote legislation,” Dr. Wang Zhiyuan, president and spokesperson of WOIPFG told The Epoch Times.

This includes the federal government in Australia, which in June saw Senator Dean Smith propose the Migration Amendment (Overseas Organ Transplants Disclosure and Other Measures) Bill 2023 to help combat the CCP’s forced organ harvesting.
The bill has gone through its second reading in Parliament, which is the stage before parliamentary representatives vote on it.

Australians Appalled by the Practice

Australians have called Beijing’s regime of organ harvesting horrific.

Sophie York, a barrister, university law lecturer, and author, described the crime of organ harvesting as “beyond all imagination for its horrific cruelty.”

“Since when does the desire for control and efficiency justify trashing natural law-based human rights? Since when?” she said.

While Paul Folley, a general manager of Australia TFP (Tradition, Family, and Property), said that it reminded him of what happened to the jewish population in Europe during World War II.

“Now all these years later, this [genocide] is happening again, and it is not only happening, it is happening right under our nose,” Mr. Folley said. “The people of the West are not taking the stand against as they should, and there’s one simple reason: doing business with China has been too good.”

Andrew Wilson, former mayor of Parramatta, said he respects his friends who practice Falun Gong because practitioners have not been led on by those who persecute them.

“You do not let them take you from your path. You do not let them take you to misery and to anger and hatred,” he said.

Mr. Wilson said he believes Falun Dafa practitioners will see a victory soon.

“I believe you’re winning. I believe you will win. I believe that China will be free, and I asked you to prepare for that day. Have everything ready for that day because it will happen so fast,” he said.
