Michael Vick will remain the starter for the Eagles, according to a report on the NFL’s website.

The report cites a text message announcement from the Eagles that Vick will be the starter Monday night against New Orleans.

The 3-4 Eagles have been a disappointment this season. Vick, who was a Pro Bowl selection as late as 2010, has a quarterback rating of 78.6—good for 26th in the league out of 34 qualifiers. In addition, he has been turnover prone though with eight interceptions and nine fumbles versus nine touchdowns thrown.

With the announcement that Vick will remain the starter, the team will most likely need a win—both to ensure Vick’s status as a starter and to snap their three-game losing streak.

Should the Eagles lose backup quarterback Nick Foles would likely be named the starter.
