Rhoanne Aguilar, a contestant in the same beauty pageant as Roxanne Cabanero, will testify in the Vhong Navarro case.
Cabanero says that while she and Aguilar were in Manila for a beauty pageant in 2010, Navarro took her to a remote area and raped her.
However, Navarro’s alibi at first look appears pretty strong. Navarro hasn’t publicly commented on the case; he’s also facing a rape complaint from model Deniece Cornejo, but his story in that case--of being blackmailed and beaten--also appears to be the right one.
Broadcaster ABS-CBN reported that Aguilar will testify in the case, which doesn’t have a court date as of yet.
She is the first person to learn about the alleged rape, although she didn’t witness it since Cabanero claims she and Navarro were in a remote area where no one would have seen.
Aguilar’s lawyer Adel Reyes confirmed that she is a witness but wouldn’t elaborate.
Aguilar took to Twitter to clarify things about her involvement.
“Roxanne and I, we’re not friends ‘friends’ and We don’t hang out at all, I don’t know anything about her and I just met her during the competition, we don’t even communicate,” she said.
“I don’t have her number and she doesn’t have my number either. It just so happened that the alleged incident happened during the competition and it just so happened that I was outside the hotel at that time.
“I don’t know if something happened at all. I don’t know if something happened at all. It’s between Vhong & Roxanne. To everyone who’s asking what hotel. Its not Astoria. Its Millenia Suites.”
