The latest news in the Vhong Navarro case is that the judge will decide this week on what to do with Cedric Lee and Zimmer Raz.

The pair notoriously fled from police and were hiding out near a coconut field in Eastern Samar when they were found.

Before that, both of them tried to leave the country via planes but were stopped at the airport by officials.

Lee allegedly headed up the group, along with Deniece Cornejo, that set up Vhong Navarro, trying to extort money from the ABS-CBN host after they accused him of raping Cornejo, a model.

Cornejo surrendered to police earlier this month after being labeled a fugitive.

Lee’s sister and three others are also charged in the case.

Journalist Tony Calvento claims that the judge in the case, Paz Esperanza Cortez will rule on a motion on Friday, May 16.

That motion is one filed by the lawyer for Lee and Raz asking that they be kept under the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation as opposed to being transferred to the Taguig City Jail.

Meanwhile, it’s unclear if Cornejo will be kept in custody throughout the trial or if she will be let out on bail.
