Vhong Navarro, the ABS-CBN host and actor, may be the target of a hitman.

Navarro is famous in the Philippines but the news about him ramped up in January after he was accused of rape by model Deniece Cornejo.

Her rape complaint was recently dismissed by the Department of Justice due to a lack of evidence while the charges against Cornejo and her group, including businessman Cedric Lee, have moved forward.

Navarro says that the group conspired to blackmail and set him up.

Now Navarro is the subject of an assassination plot, according to independent journalist Tony Calvento.

He says that a “hired gunman” is on the loose and targeting Navarro, prompting the actor to increase his security.

Also in the case, Lee and fellow alleged conspirator Zimmer Raz were arraigned for the alleged kidnapping and beating of Navarro.

The pair remain under the detention of the National Bureau of Investigation until at least May 6, when the court will decide whether they should be detained while the court case goes on or whether they will be allowed out on bail.
