Vanessa Minnillo, the former Total Request Live host, and Nick Lachey, former member of boy band 98 Degrees, are in Mexico to celebrate their engagement as well as their birthdays.
The couple got engaged in California on Thursday and flew straight to Mexico where they will both celebrate their birthdays on Tuesday, Nov. 9. Minnillo turns 30 and Lachey turns 37.
Back in 2006, Minnillo starred with Lachey in his “What’s Left of Me” video. At the time he was still married to Hollywood actress Jessica Simpson. Subsequent to Lachey’s divorce from Simpson, the pair started dating and went public as a couple.
Lachey confirmed the engagement on Twitter: “If anyone’s heard the rumors of my engagement, they are absolutely true! Vanessa and I couldn’t be happier,” he tweeted.
Minnillo is sporting a large engagement ring. It is a platinum, asscher-cut diamond with trapezoids on the side from designer Bader & Garrin, according to Us Magazine.
“We’re excited and incredibly happy about our engagement and we look forward to a wonderful future together,” the couple told Us Magazine in a statement.
