The Vandalia tornado in Ohio has damaged at least eight homes and injured at least 11 people.

The tornado, which hit on Thursday night, blew through with winds of up to 110 miles per hour.

The National Weather Service assessed damage from the EF-1 tornado.

Some of those homes were made “uninhabitable” from the tornado, according to the service. Roofs were blown off, and some walls collapsed.

Many of the people suffered injuries in Fricker’s Restaurant, where windows were shattered by the heavy winds.

The tornado first touched down just northeast of the Interstate 75 and National Road/US 40 exit. It damaged several buildings before hitting Fricker’s, where it blew out windows of “numerous” vehicles in the restaurant’s parking lot, the service reported. The tornado picked up a large pickup truck and tossed it; it landed on top of a nearby vehicle.

The path continued into a residential subdivision, where at least three homes were rendered uninhabitable.

Bruno’s Den, a bar that has been around for 60 years, was destroyed, reported ABC. B Jay’s Drive Thru was also destroyed, reported the Dayton Daily News.

Iris Seibert, a local, said that she was shocked.

“I’ve lived here for 20 years now so it’s very heartbreaking to see what happened,” she said. “You see on television that it happens to other people and you never think it will happen to you.”

Sage Lairson, another local, was inside Fricker’s when the storm hit.

“All of a sudden the windows started blowing out,” Lairson said. “Power went out, it was nuts.” Several people had blood on their faces inside the bar.
