Three people have died after a Cessna 185 crashed near Vancouver Island’s Port McNeill on Thursday.
Dom Lassonde of the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Victoria told CBC that someone called in about the crash.
“We had a concerned citizen phoning in a little earlier on today about a visual of an aircraft going down and hitting hard off West Cracroft Island,” he said. “The Cormorant inserted in close to the crash site and SAR techs were able to identify that there’s three deceased.”
The single-engine plane could hold up to six passengers.
