The Vampire Diaries is set to start soon and some new spoilers and videos have recently emerged.
The videos give some new insight into the upcoming season, including into how Caroline is dealing with the loss of Bonnie after she and Damon went somewhere.
Caroline has a lunch with Sheriff Forbes to discuss how Caroline and everyone else is dealing with the loss. Caroline notes that Elena has taken up residency on Planet Denial,“ a place where ”football is more important than her boyfriend being swept away into oblivion.”
Another clip shows glimpses of Alaric, Liv, and Tyler, among other characters.
Meanwhile, some new information about the upcoming villain has emerged.
Executive producer Julie Plec told Entertainment Weekly that there will be more than one “conflict providers” but one big villain.
There is a villain-esque person in this season that I’m particularly excited about because it does break the mold a little bit of our villains, which seem to be often very redeemable in their own way,“ she said. ”And we get to explore the deep, dark minds of a psychopathic personality, so I’m very excited about that.”
Plec previously said that the season will have “a big bad.”
“It’s a long, slow-burn mythology that will unfold over the course of the entire season and will really impact each of our character in deep ways and it’s smart and it’s interesting and it’s small, which I like,” she told E! Online.
“Instead of trying to top ourselves year to year, we try to scale back and see if we can keep it really personal and rooted in character.”
The Vampire Diaries season 6 premieres on Thursday, October 2 on The CW.
