The Vampire Diaries season 6 will include interaction between Damon and Elena, known by some as Delena.
The couple were ripped apart in the season 5 finale, with Damon and Bonnie gone to another place.
But new footage from season 6 shows that the couple will be talking to each other.
“Do you know Elena has some sort of witchy drug problem that allows her to hallucinate Damon?” Caroline asks Stefan in an extended promo video.
In another part of the new footage, Stefan urges Elena to “say goodbye” to Damon. When she demands to see Damon one last time, Damon tells her to move on.
Executive producer Caroline Dries recently addressed criticism about the situation between Damon and Elena.
“I’ve been getting all of these hate messages like, ‘You think you can do a season without Delena? You’re crazy,’” Dries told EW.
“The fans have nothing to worry about. We know what we’re doing. Nobody’s going to abandon any love triangle. Everything will be fine. There will be plenty of Delena goodness for people.”
Season 6 will premiere on October 2.
