A Virginia burglar stole an armful of right-footed sneakers at a shoe store in Roanoke.

At around 4 a.m. on Aug. 25, the burglar broke into the Clean Soles store in Roanoke. Store employee Rob Wickham said he’s been robbed twice in the past two months, and thieves made off with 13 shoes, hoodies, one jacket, and one complete pair of sneakers, The Roanoke Times reported.

Wickham said that the burglar stealing right-foot shoes won’t do him much good “unless you have two right feet. [They are] pretty much risking their freedom for nothing.”

“It almost looked normal except for some shoes missing off the counter and shelf,” he told NPR.
The Roanoke County Police Department posted a video of the burglar on YouTube. “On Saturday 8/25/2018 at approximately 4:19 a.m., Roanoke County Police responded to a business burglar alarm in the 5500 block of Williamson Rd., and is seeking the public’s assistance with identifying the suspect in the attached video clip,” police said of the clip.

“What was the point of grabbing one shoe off the shelf?” Wickham asked.

On YouTube, one person commented on the right-shoe thief, “Maybe he has a friend who’s an amputee?”

In July, robbers also stole a number of right-foot shoes, Wickham told The Roanoke Times.

In that case, police charged a 17-year-old with the crime.

The burglar who stole in August is still at large, NPR reported.
