The woman who was seen allegedly throwing a laptop at her boyfriend’s head was identified by local news outlets.
The report said that the laptop also hit a flight attendant, although they were not seriously injured.
Kailey Goerlitz, a witness, told the station that she was several rows ahead on the plane, which was still at the Miami airport.
“She was yelling a lot of profanities,” Goerlitz said, adding that she was also hit in the face with the laptop after McLemore threw it.
“At first I thought it was entertaining, but when it escalated and I got hurt and the airline stewardess got hurt, then it wasn’t so funny anymore,” she said.
McLemore and her husband, who was not named, were removed from the flight, which departed for Los Angeles minutes later.
The husband was uncooperative and didn’t want to press charges against his wife, police told the news outlet.
He was re-booked on another flight later in the day, Local10 reported.
American Airlines, the carrier, said it refused to re-book McLemore. It’s not clear where she went.
The flight attendant and passengers were also treated for minor injuries, the Miami Herald reported.
The couple was returning home from a trip in Quito, Ecuador.
