A 24-year-old Fountain Valley woman was booked on suspicion of animal abuse at an Anaheim daycare and boarding business in Anaheim, police said July 7.

Michelle Navarrete was booked on July 6 and released when she posted $20,000 bail, according to Anaheim police Sgt. Jon McClintock.

Orange County Animal Care officials notified police on July 5 about allegations of abuse for the business in the 4500 block of East Eisenhower Circle, McClintock said.

Navarrete worked at the business for about three years. It is unclear how many dogs may have been allegedly abused, McClintock said.

Police also declined to specify what type of abuse was alleged.

Anyone with information that may be helpful to investigators was asked to call 714-328-8153. Orange County Crime Stoppers will accept anonymous tips at 855-TIP-OCCS.
