LOS ANGELES—A pedestrian was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in North Hollywood in the evening on Sept. 1.

Firefighters were called at 9:38 p.m. to 12099 Sherman Road, east of Laurel Canyon Boulevard, where they learned the San Diego-bound Pacific Surfliner train carrying arround 116 passengers hit the approximately 50-year-old woman, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

No injuries among the train’s crew and the passengers were reported.

The train came to an emergency stop and remains just east of the collision site and the passengers remain on board the train pending its release by Los Angeles Police Department investigators, Humphrey said.
