Watchdog Finds Loss or Theft of 45 FBI Firearms, Lack of Controls on Explosives and Ammo

The  Department of Justice inspector general found that FBI agents had lost or had stolen from the department 45 firearms since 2016, while the bureau lacked proper controls over explosives and munitions.

The findings are part of the report by the DOJ Office of Inspector General on its audit of the FBI’s controls over weapons, munitions, and explosives.
