HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif.—The Greater Huntington Beach Interfaith Council is calling for volunteers to serve the community by participating in various public service projects April 23.

“This is a very great day for the community to come together and for the community to realize that being united and working together we can get a lot done,” said Mark Currie, an executive board member of Interfaith Council.

Additionally, Currie told The Epoch Times that the projects vary every year depending on the city’s needs.

Typically, he said, up to 800 volunteers from Huntington Beach participate on this day.

Community Service Day is celebrated annually and was initiated by local churches in 2014.
