Venice Neighborhood Council board members Soledad Ursua and Chie Lunn, who toured gubernatorial candidate Larry Elder around the city’s infamous homeless encampments, filed a hate crime complaint on Sept. 9 with the Los Angeles Police Department against Elder’s attackers.

During a walk-through of Elder’s campaign stop at Venice Beach on Sept. 8, over 10 hecklers harassed him, throwing projectiles, and allegedly assaulted his bodyguard.
