The USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier was involved in a collision with a merchant ship in the Mediterranean Sea near Egypt, officials confirmed on Feb. 13.

In a statement released by the U.S. Navy’s U.S. Sixth Fleet public affairs office, the Nimitz-class carrier collided with the Besiktas-M ship at about 11:46 p.m. local time on Feb. 12 near Port Said, Egypt.
