The U.S. military has resumed operations against ISIS in northern Syria, six weeks after President Donald Trump abruptly issued an order for troops to withdraw from the region, according to reports.
The news, first reported by the New York Times, comes after U.S. Central Command chief General Kenneth McKenzie told reporters on Nov. 23 that about 500 U.S. personnel in east Syria were expected to resume operations against ISIS in the coming days and weeks.
