The Labor Department has released a stronger than expected November jobs report Friday, buoyed in part by General Motors workers returning to the workforce after a strike.

The report said 266,000 jobs were added in November, a figure significantly higher than the expected gain of about 180,000, according to economists polled by MarketWatch.
