Two women have been arrested for allegations of burning several toddlers with a hot glue gun at a Chicago daycare which was reportedly caught on camera earlier this month.
The 32-year-old woman “caused injury” to three girls and two boys, all of whom are 2 years old, on Dec. 1, at the Children’s Learning Place in the 3100 block of West Fullerton, according to police. It was not clear how badly the children were hurt.
Another woman, Susana D. Gonzalez, 27, of Melrose Park was charged with five misdemeanor counts of causing the circumstances of child endangerment, reported the newspaper.
Both women were daycare workers at Children’s Learning Place on the Northwest Side.
“The well-being of our students is paramount,” Lissa Druss Christman, a spokeswoman for the daycare, told Chicago Sun Times.
“Upon learning of the alleged incident, we notified DCFS immediately and terminated two of our employees. We are currently working with investigators,” Christman added.
Illinois Department of Children and Family Services spokeswoman Alissandra Calderón said they are investigating allegations of abuse by a daycare worker.
