President Donald Trump’s pick to lead the Office of Special Counsel, attorney Paul Ingrassia, announced that he was withdrawing from a nomination hearing set for Thursday.

“I will be withdrawing myself from Thursday’s HSGAC hearing to lead the Office of Special Counsel because unfortunately I do not have enough Republican votes at this time,” Ingrassia wrote in a post on X, referring to the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.
