Trump Using New York Trial to Delay Documents Case, Smith Says

Both cases prosecuted by the special counsel will miss their original trial dates.

Special counsel Jack Smith argues in a court filing on April 14 that former President Donald Trump is using his criminal trial in New York to delay his federal documents case.

“Following their pattern, the defendants responded to the Court’s deadline by seeking another postponement,” he wrote.
