Trump to Celebrate Team USA’s Achievements at Winter Olympics

About 40 percent of the Team USA Winter Olympians and Paralympians are expected to attend the White House ceremony.

President Donald Trump will honor more than 120 Team USA athletes at the White House on Aug. 6 in celebration of their accomplishments at the 2026 Winter Olympics.

The president will host athletes, coaches, staff, and representatives from Team USA at a Rose Garden celebration of their achievements in the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics and Paralympic Winter Games, where 300 Olympians and Paralympians represented Team USA and brought home 57 medals, 25 of which were gold.

“President Trump will proudly celebrate Team USA’s historic achievements at the Winter Olympics with a special reception at the People’s House,” White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers told The Epoch Times. “Our patriotic athletes showed the world American excellence, and their extraordinary performances united us all in our love of country.”

Scheduled to be in attendance are speed skater Jordan Stolz and hockey players Abbey Murphy and Joy Dunne. None of the gold-medal-winning men’s hockey team members is expected to be at the celebration. Stolz put his gold medal around Trump’s neck at a Trump rally in Wisconsin in June.

About 40 percent of the Team USA Winter Olympians and Paralympians are expected to attend. Those unavailable to be there are already training for the 2030 Olympics and Paralympic Winter Games, a White House official told The Epoch Times.

Team USA won 12 gold medals at the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, marking its highest gold medal total in a single Winter Games. The U.S. Paralympic winter team brought home 13 gold medals, tying its best performance at any Winter Paralympics over the past two decades. It was the most medals ever won by Team USA at a Winter Games held outside North America.

“The athletes represent every region of the country, every pathway to excellence, and every generation of Team USA, united by the opportunity to represent the United States on the world’s biggest stage,” a White House official told The Epoch Times. “Team USA delivered one of the strongest Winter Olympic and Paralympic performances in United States history.”

Although the men’s hockey team will not be in attendance, Trump honored team members in the Oval Office in February and at his State of the Union address before Congress. The women’s hockey team, which also won gold, was unable to attend the address, citing previously scheduled commitments.

Trump joked at the time that he “probably would be impeached” if he didn’t invite the women’s team to the White House in addition to the men’s team.
