WASHINGTON—President-elect Donald Trump said on Jan. 6 that he prefers to use one bill to pass his big agenda items but is open to alternative approaches.

In a Jan. 5 social media post, Trump called for “one powerful bill” that included measures pertaining to border security, taxes, and U.S. energy. On taxes, Trump wants an extension of the 2017 tax cuts alongside a tax exemption on tips.
