President Donald Trump said on Oct. 8 his team is “very close to a deal in the Middle East” to end the war in Gaza and return the remaining hostages held by the Hamas terrorist group.

During a roundtable meeting with several Cabinet members on Wednesday, Trump said he had just returned from discussing a potential Gaza peace deal with Middle Eastern delegations, members of his team, and others. He suggested that he may travel to the Middle East as soon as this weekend for in-person negotiations.
