President Donald Trump on March 31 said State Farm and other insurers should “get their act together” after meeting with California politicians and hearing about the difficulties facing the victims of last year’s wildfires.

Two areas outside Los Angeles were devastated by wildfires in January 2025. The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection reported that in the Palisades fire, 12 people died, 6,831 structures were lost, and 973 structures were damaged.
