President Donald Trump on April 21 ordered that U.S. flags fly at half-staff to honor Pope Francis, who died earlier in the day at age 88.

Trump’s directive, announced in an executive order on Monday, came as tributes poured in from world leaders mourning the passing of the first Latin American pontiff in history.
