President Donald Trump said he believes a recession is unlikely and downplayed concerns about the impact tariffs may have on the U.S. economy.

“Look, yeah, it’s—everything’s OK. What we are—I said, this is a transition period. I think we’re going to do fantastically,” Trump told NBC News’ “Meet the Press” in an interview that was published on May 4.
