President Donald Trump has announced that Jay Clayton will serve as interim U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York—which includes parts of New York City—as the nominee faces roadblocks in the Senate.

“During my First Term, Jay served with great distinction as the Chair of the Securities and Exchange Commission, and earned the respect of everyone,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.
