The auto tariff will take effect on April 2, when the United States will impose broad reciprocal tariffs on its trading partners.

WASHINGTON—President Donald Trump on March 26 announced 25 percent tariffs on imported cars and car parts in a move aimed at boosting domestic auto manufacturing.

According to the proclamation signed by the president, tariffs will apply to both autos and auto parts.
