The Trump administration on Nov. 10 said that the Supreme Court should halt an order requiring it to pay in full for the federal food stamp program, although the appeal could become moot if Congress ends the government shutdown.

The order in question states that the government must pay about $9 billion to fully fund the food stamp program for November.
