Two people have been badly injured after a truck crashed into a car and pedestrians in San Francisco, authorities say.
Her son Alden added: “The door, yeah it got smooshed in.”
The two pedestrians are aged 79 and 66, with one of them sustaining life-threatening injuries, and the other in critical but stable condition, according to police. Both are being treated in local hospitals.
“As soon as I looked back and saw that my kids were okay, they weren’t dead, like, I got them out of the car and then I ran over to see the guy that got hit because he flung about 10 to 15 feet,” King told ABC7.
The driver of the truck was detained while a Cantonese translator was found.
Police say it appears that the driver ran a red light and was probably speeding, according to ABC7.
The accident shut down one of San Francisco’s roads for several hours on Monday evening.
