Tropical Storm Tara Forms; NOAA Monitoring Low-Pressure System

The U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) is issuing advisories for Tropical Storm Tara on Oct. 15, as well as a tropical disturbance in the Caribbean that has a chance of developing into a cyclone.

The NHC said that Tropical Storm Tara has 45 mph winds and is moving 2 mph to the west-northwest.

There is a tropical storm watch for Punta San Telmo to Cabo Corrientes in Mexico, meaning “that tropical storm conditions are possible within the watch area,” according to the NHC. Heavy rains are currently hitting portions of southwestern Mexico.
