U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Nov. 5 that he is “very, very optimistic” after a Supreme Court hearing on the legality of President Donald Trump’s global tariffs.

During an appearance on Fox Business Network’s “Kudlow” program, Bessent said he believed plaintiffs had “almost embarrassed themselves” while challenging Trump’s use of a 1977 law to defend his tariffs.
