In response to Texas’s redistricting, California has announced it will also redraw its congressional map.

The Texas House is scheduled to vote on Aug. 20 on a newly drawn congressional map that would give Republicans five extra seats.

The Texas Senate passed the map on Aug. 13. Were the state House to pass the map, it would go to Gov. Greg Abbott for his signature.
