A 14-year-old-boy is in custody after he allegedly posed as a police officer to rob a blind man in a Manhattan subway station on May 14.

The mother of the youth turned him in on Sunday, The Associated Press reported, nearly a week after he reportedly stole the 64-year-old man’s wallet. Police said he offered to help the man pass through a turnstile at a 34th Street and 8th Avenue subway station in Manhattan. While he was helping the man, security cameras captured him unzipping the man’s backpack and taking out his wallet.
