The chance that there will be a quick end to the stalemate over a new stimulus bill diminished on Oct. 12, with members of the House being told not to expect any action this week.

President Donald Trump’s administration last week offered a $1.8 trillion stimulus bill to counter Democrats’ offers, while Trump himself again prodded Congress into acting on a new stimulus bill in the midst of Supreme Court hearings for Judge Amy Coney Barrett.
