Shake Shack is coming to Orange County, with a new restaurant expected to open this summer at the Irvine Spectrum Center.

The debut of the popular eatery is just a start, with more plans for expansion into Costa Mesa and Huntington Beach, according to a company press release.

The new location at the Spectrum Center will be near the Regal movie theater.

“We are so excited to bring Shake Shack to Orange County,” said Andrew McCaughan, Chief Development Officer at Shake Shack. “We see Orange County as a huge opportunity for the company and we can’t wait to serve our delicious burgers and shakes to the community.”

The first Shake Shack opened in 2004 in New York City.

Since then, the company has expanded to over 430 locations with 285 in 32 U.S. states and the District of Columbia, and over 145 international outlets including Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai, Mexico City, Dubai, Istanbul, Seoul, Tokyo, London, and more.
