Sex Offender Charged With Molesting Girl in Irvine

SANTA ANA, Calif.—A registered sex offender was charged Dec. 22 with molesting a 13-year-old girl in Irvine.

Enrique Flores Martinez, 60, of Santa Ana, was charged with four felony counts of lewd or lascivious acts on a minor younger than 14 and a felony count of failing to notify law enforcement agency within five days of a change of address as a sex offender.

Police were alerted Monday that a seventh grader reported the suspect, who knows the accuser, touched her inappropriately on several occasions, police said. She alleged the incidents occurred twice in 2021 in Irvine, another time in Santa Ana this summer and then most recently, last Sunday in Irvine.

Mr. Martinez pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Friday and was ordered to return to court Jan. 3 for a pretrial hearing in the Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach. He was ordered held on $300,000 bail.

Mr. Martinez pleaded guilty to sexual battery and false imprisonment in April 2000, according to court records. He was sentenced to three years in prison, according to court records.
