Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) has officially announced she is running for governor of Minnesota, saying in a video posted online that “these times call for grit and resilience” and urging voters to “stand up for what’s right and fix what’s wrong.”
“Minnesota, we’ve been through a lot,” Klobuchar said in the launch video, citing events of the past year such as the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement operations in Minnesota, federal officers fatally shooting two Minnesotans in encounters, the assassination of former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, and a school shooting that killed multiple children.
