Schumer and Durbin will be Senate minority leader and minority whip, respectively, as the GOP will control the upper congressional chamber starting in January.

Senate Democrats reelected Sens. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) on Dec. 3 as their leader and whip, respectively.

Sens. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) and Cory Booker (D-N.J.) got the third-ranked and fourth-ranked positions in Senate Democrat leadership, respectively.
