Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif) has created a legal defense fund as he faces renewed scrutiny under the Trump administration, his office confirmed this week.
The fund, formally registered with the IRS on Aug. 14, is listed as the Senator Schiff Legal Defense Fund and describes its purpose as “a Senate approved legal fund for Senator Schiff.” A trustee, Steven Mele, is named in the filing, which provides a Washington, D.C., mailing address.
