Popular podcast host and runner, Ali Feller, reveals she is battling cancer once again, nearly nine months after completing treatment.

The 40-year-old, known for her “Ali on the Run” show, took to Instagram on June 6 to share that her initial breast cancer diagnosis has now spread to her bones.

“This intense, debilitating, at times immobilizing pain came out of nowhere,” she captioned a photo of herself lying in a hospital bed.

Feller, who was first diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2023, is a running enthusiast and participated in the Boston marathon back in April where she noticed signs of chest pains and a lump on her sternum.

“It was mild at first. It was there in Boston. It was bad by London. The weekend of my birthday party, I was riding on adrenaline, but by the end of each night, I could barely move,” she wrote.

“My beloved surgeon was at my birthday party. I mentioned the pain, and the little bump ... By 8 AM that Monday morning, her office was calling to start scheduling appointments for me.”

Following numerous testing that included CT scans, biopsies, MRIs and more, the results confirmed her worst fears, that she had Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer—the most advanced stage—that spread.

“I am overwhelmed. I am up to my eyeballs in cancer admin. I am sad. I am scared. I am as delusionally optimistic as ever. I am angry,” she expressed. “I am convinced I’ll be an exception and not a statistic.”

The New Hampshire native, who is also the mother to a 6-year-old daughter, is set to re-start chemotherapy on June 10, and is committed to fighting the disease.

According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer is not curable but usually treatable and impacts approximately 30 percent of women who were initially diagnosed with the disease.
At the time of her initial breast cancer diagnosis, Feller underwent four rounds of chemotherapy treatment, a year of immunotherapy, as well as a double mastectomy and reconstruction surgery.
Feller rose to fame ten years ago when she created her “Ali on the Run” blog in an effort to create a space for like-minded runners like herself to connect.

In 2017 she launched her podcast, combining that passion with other compelling individuals in the sport. Her show is considered one of the leading podcasts across the globe, with over 20 million downloads to date.
