Police are looking for a 27-year-old man who escaped from a hospital after being arrested on Wednesday, April 25.

He escaped from St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx around 6:30 a.m. with handcuffs attached to one hand, police said.

The suspect, Kevin Taylor, was taken to the Belmont hospital last night after complaining of pain while in custody, police sources told Pix 11. He was released from handcuffs after asking to use the bathroom, and when he was done, he pushed past officers and fled.

Taylor was in custody on charges related to the possession of weapons, narcotics, and resisting arrest.

He had 40 prior arrests, including bail jumping, aggravated harassment, burglary, robbery, attempted escape, and criminal mischief, NBC New York reports.
Police were looking in the backyards of houses in the area of Bassford Avenue and East 184th Street for the suspect, according to ABC 7.

He was last seen wearing a green hooded sweatshirt and black ripped jeans.
