Outgoing New York City Mayor Eric Adams said that his public safety policies have made New York “the safest big city in America.”

Adams and New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch joined staff and volunteers from the city’s Office to Prevent Gun Violence at a Monday press conference to announce that shootings have decreased by 55 percent and homicides are down 35.5 percent in the city since Adams took office in 2022.
